yo everyone. =D really want to talk about something impt, an impt trend that i see in blogs nowadays.

what is the use of a blog? no actual motive i guess, a medium for interaction, to let ppl, friends know more about you and your life (especially during the hols hehes) in a stylistic or unique manner - not too direct with a tinge of subtlety. whee. =D

BUT. the problem is that a blog requires constant refreshing and updates to make it interesting and worth the visit from the target audience aka. your friends and classmates and taggers and spammers and utterly-random-people-who-may-just-pop-in-and-say-hi. imo, i visit quite a few of me friends' blogs and i can basically assume that blogging is reduced to three common trends that ppl usually follow when creating a blog and blogging. =D

1) Common Blogger (CB)

of course this is supposed to be very common, perhaps the most common of all blog trends that we (bloggers, people, US) should follow when blogging so that the blog is not left dilapidated with outdated news on how <insert niaoing action of some1 here> when actually it has been a month after that initial post and he/she has already <insert what you would do if that niaoing action happened to you>. bleagh. it's like reading a month old newspaper, it's no longer new. it's old, an oldspaper. XD.

2) Killing Blogger (KB)

wahaha. are you a killing blogger? killing bloggers kill blogs just like after a few posts before they lose interest and fade away to play/work/do whatever they like to do. i think some KBs blog for the sake of blogging and to show the world how they are able to recount their lives/experience in a fashionable manner etc. of course, a change of blogskins does not = to killing a blog. to kill a blog (just like how you can kill a mockingbird =D though i definitely wouldn't =DD) is akin to forsaking your blog becoz of a lack of interest or simply because you find it a hassle. the worst fate a blog can get. =(

3) "Leprosic" Blogger (LB)

ok. i guess all of you noe what it means to contract leprosy (or however it is spelt? =X) a LB is just like someone who is very very erratic in their blogging, they can make the blog appear dead for like a few week without any particular reason before boom!smash!oddment!nitwit!tweak!blubber!pop!poof! and they start blogging again once in a while. not exactly too bad and i guess quite a few of us (yes, including me (= ) are like that. girls and boys alike!

i'm not really against being any of these blog types. of course (last time i'll use it in this blog post XD), there are always hybrid bloggers. bloggers who combine one or more of the above three types of blogging and in the end, they can be LBs yet later become CBs. it's all a matter of interest and where your heart brings you (imo again) =D.

so, are you a CB, KB or LB?? happy hols.  ^^

hiya, haven't been posting for the last few days liao mainly because i have been dotaing alot nowadays and am planning for my holiday, tix still not yet confirmed so... never post loh! coupled with the fact that my windows live writer application failed on me for the past 3 weeks, i haven't really found the interest to post til tonight. =D

wa. where should i start off? guess alot of you ppl keep tagging for me to blog but in essence really not much that i can blog abt. wells.. i have an icouncil exco meeting generally every 2 weeks or so now and there was an edc camp sometime back but i also had a lit award interview in school (wtf?!) for being some top 15 in the cohort. i'm not niaoing wilf... but i'm happy to have gotten the interview at the very least! =P

oh, so where should i start off? ok, go from my exco meeting ba. as you've probably already known, i'm the deputy chairman for welfare in the icouncil which means that the ileague, the ilounge and the numerous welfare activities are all under yours truly mr.baifeng me. HEY! don't complain 'kay? =)) post some suggestions in the tagboard if you wish. anw, the meetings are really necessary in a sense and most importantly, our vision/direction/strat.plan etc. and all the cheem stuff that icouncil ought to have is coming into place. i've already discussed our new welfare initiatives proposal with the teachers TODAY zz and alot of the events and systems that seemed to be gd were KIV-ed or indirectly postponed indefinitely. i guess that's part and parcel of being in icouncil exco. i heard that next year, hwachong ispark may have 4 sec 1 classes leh! =D more ppl to come to icouncil and more ppl for ileague. the more the merrier. =)

btw, did anyone read that newspaper article on this malaysian boy perishing in a car accident and he was supposed to come to hwachong somemore!!! maths genius and talent, could've been my ispark junior lehs =( felt rather sad after reading that article... though i don't see how i'm emotionally attached to him. guess i should drive better next time when i can drive.

back to the topic, had an edc camp from 13 - 15 november 2006 so didn't actually slack the entire holiday away! eh the camp was fun man, especially with hours after hours of playing poker cards (bridge, taiti, poker, hearts, heart attk hehes), erm... the food was rather nice too i guess, think that the uncle at the zha2 fan4 stall specially cook for us one la, the offerings like i never eat b4 one. oh so what did i learn at the camp again? was in charge of um... teaching some skills regarding production and stage management which was very poorly received, don't see why it shouldn't be tho =D, really didn't think there was much about stage management and production anw. we oso had this prop hunting/treasure hunt @ clementi kinda thingy that was like the eoya shi zi lu kou. quite fun i guess!!! oh and we have syf next year so i pray now and hope for a gold with honours! hciedc'07. dare you take centrestage?. dare. (part and parcel of what i thought abt when designing t-shirts for 2007 for the club. the former is our official club caption while the latter i what i hope will be the new club caption in response to the first one! XD

wahaha. no time to talk abt the lit award as i'm feeling preeeeetty sleepy now...

*yawns* *stretches back* *blinks* *types*

ok since it's like 12 o'clock liao in the middle of the night, i shall end here. i love windows live writer. =)

seriously, i sometimes suggest that people pay more attention to free applications that can improve their coms while that doesn't only include BROWSERS like ie, firefox and opera. here's a list of what i recommend =)

Anti-Malware / Adware Solutions

Windows Defender
Ad-Aware

Windows Live Stuff

Windows Live Messenger (duh!) 8.1 BETA
Windows Live Writer Beta(used to blog - highly efficient)
Windows Live Mail (possible more efficient than gmail in future)
Windows Live Local (go to local.live.com - there's 3D)

Google Stuff

Google Search (though there's also always Windows Live Search @ www.live.com)
Gmail Notifier

sianz. don't noe why i wrote the above actually LOL. xD

Anw, i gtg to do my nyaa which i hope to hand up by monday (either a very early/late date to hand in depending on whether letchmi or bala is correct - bala ftw! hahas.)

cyas.

(some stuff i wrote long ago but never posted) - 23/11/2006 2356 Edited

if you can see this, my blog's up and working again! whee. =))

lol. xD. guess who's here? boo! me. (ok this = spam)

anw, haven't been realli posting too much because I'm still an avid gamer and still have quite some events coming up soon. No, thomas, i can't stand not playing any games for now. erm... ok so let's just blog about what i have been doing apart from playing games every night.

Of course, there was the exco meeting sometime back about council's image, students' welfare etc with our two new council mentors mr.ben lee and mrs.koh, both of whom I have worked with before, especially the latter who's my ivp teacher mentor. I can't really discuss what we actually discussed back then, partly because it's top secret and belongs to the confidential part of iCouncil but also largely because I myself have forgotten quite a bit of what was mentioned apart from the real stuff, stuff that were not theories etc. OK - I can say that iLeague will be back but one major event for the GEP in Hwa Chong will be cancelled (i'll keep mum on this for the time being cos i can't believe it myself). We'll get more funds xD. Looking forward to a more refined Space dudes. =)

Next big thing - GEB talent development programme which is being hosted at the teachers' network down at 51 Grange Road. 1) the bus stop is damn far away. 2) you've probably been there before if you went for the GEP funfair held in 2004 when we were all p6!! xD. today was mainly the first session which wasn't really facilitation but more like planning for an event, which I didn't really pay attention to as there were quite a number of sec 1s pestering me in one corner and I couldn't think in top form. BAH. i still don't know what we're gonna plan for during the 1430-1600 period tomorrow. it started 'round 1430 and quite a number of people (ja, derek, tiansheng, hong hui etc.) were late. Lemme explain. i think they were led in circles by some random intuition but most claim it's tiansheng's problem lol but i believe that tiansheng's counter-statement that he knew porterson road would lead to grange rd is also relatively valid. anw, the worst thing is that they went to TL 2 instead of 1 and tiansheng walked towards a cupboard, thinking it was a door o.0 - must be very tired liaos. back to the network. my group will be using SR 8 which is on the third storey (which really sux) but seems to provide more comfort and the network's library titled "Read@TN" has quite a variety of good stuff e.g. good organisation + good areas for both gaming and working and reading. i think our school library has it's own faults after all. xD k so it ended around 1700 cos the teacher had something on later and i went home via bus with ja. erm. we actually caught the bus after a 3 min run. that's pro. =) still have 1 more day of something like that + 2 full days after that (8th and 9th Nov) for a course or sth like that. 10 CL ace ftw!

Biggest thing. LAN Gaming. lol ya went down to bukit timah plaza for a class lan gaming session involving only ten people out of the original twelve but nevertheless very fun and highly addictive for the few hours after it. i shan't delve too much into the meeting and the coordination but i'll give justin a thumb's up (LOL) for actually organising it very well. no sarcasm intended. the good thing about lan gaming is that there is a wide variety of games available e.g. CS source, 1.6, halo for pc (which rox big time), battlefield (which i didn't play), fifa 05 (which has an uber pro scoring system lols) and obviously WoW for dota matches and all (though we only played one). we started off with cs, i wasn't too good at it then we went on separate routes cos some coms didn't have halo for pc on them so we, at least I, played halo for pc with a bunch of other ppl from me class. then a dota match that lasted close to 90mins becoz JA was very good at defending (niao'r!) then finally culminating in halo matches to end off. final bill? $8.67 - i think it's quite cheap considering that we played $2 per hr as opposed to beauty world's $3.50 per hr. =) hope to have more fun in the hols with halo party and class potluck session o.0
